My girlfriend is the oldest in our circle of friends. Last year she was the first of us to turn fifty years old. For her, that truly is just a biological number as her physical looks and hair style say at least ten years younger.
 
I have to say she has earned those youthful looks by working out all the time. She also wears modern but not too hip clothing and is not afraid to show some skin. Her hair style is somewhat that of a young girl. She will pull it back into a single pony tail or two braids. She wears her hair long. Often my girlfriend will use hair clips or bandannas to adorn her hair. She just doesn't adhere to the societal view of how a fifty year old should dress or wear her hair style.

I think a big part of her youthful appearance lies in her hair style. When she does something with her hair it is simple and with little fan fair. She may pull back a portion of it and braid it or put it in a pony tail with a hair tie that matches the color of her outfit. She sometimes uses barrettes or other fashion hair adornments. Her young round face looks best when her hair style is pulled back. It definitely works for her.
